The collection consists of a stereoscopic view by E. and H.T. Anthony & Co., of New York. The view is number 9941 of a series of "Views in Atlanta, Ga." This particular slide is a fine photograph of Washington Street looking south from Hunter Street featuring the Second Central Presbyterian [foreground] and Second Baptist [background] Churches. Also noteworthy are the gas lights and sidewalks. The fencepost in the left foreground was part of the enclosure surrounding the City Hall Courthouse lot, now occupied by the State Capitol.
